BSD:

      - /var/run/dmesg.boot (if not present, then output from `dmesg`)
      - `pciconf -lv` 
      - `sysctl -a` (or, at a minimum, `sysctl hw dev`)
      - other information if applicable

   Linux:

      - `dmesg` (or file that contains dmesg output from boot time)
      - `lspci -n` + `lspci -vvv`
      - /proc/cpuinfo.txt
      - other information if applicable
